My future as a home invader

So, tonight Caitlin came downstairs and said, "Mom, I need your keys so I can get into your room to get something." My response was, "Why do you need my keys?" "Because I locked the door so Ethan wouldn't get in there." Well, the only problem was...MY KEYS WERE IN MY ROOM!!!!! So, I was stuck with the problem that my door was locked, my keys were in my locked room, the hinges to the door were on the inside, as well as the screws to the door knob. The room is on the second floor, so even if the window was open, I had no way of getting to it because I don't own a ladder. So, I came up with two solutions:

1. Go through the attic crawlspace of which there is an opening to in my hallway, and hope that there is another opening either in my room or in my closet, even though I had never seen one before.

2. Use the "credit card" trick I had seen so many times on television.

Of course, I figure there's no way that actually works. That's just TV. Besides, most of the time the credit card breaks and that's how the police catch the guy that was trying to break into the house in the first place. LOL So, I decided to try the credit card trick before the attic crawlspace because it's easier and less messy than crawling around in an attick with who knows what kind of creatures, dust, grime and just icky stuff up there, all with the probability that there is no opening in my room anyways. (Although, I might have been able to get into my neighbor's condo LOL) So, out came my Petco card (didn't want to run the risk of breaking my credit card...that's WAY too valuable ;) ) and wouldn't you know...the credit card trick WORKS!!!!! It took less than a minute to get my door open! I was thrilled and quite proud of myself. Hmmmmmm, who's next?

Is this not the cutest face in the whole wide world?

Yes, my friends, that is my almost six month old baby girl. The funny thing is, I'm not getting the oh so familiar pangs of wanting another one, which I would normally already have by now. Could it be that I may actually think I'm done having children? Oh my gosh, what a concept! LOL I'm thoroughly enjoying this little girl and it's nice not to feel the want to have another infant right now!

So, an update on me:

Myspace has opened up a whole new...or should I say old...world to me. Everyone and their brother is on there. My old best friend, who I haven't seen since seventh grade even messaged me a little while ago. Talk about flashbacks! It's odd.

I'm down 18 pounds in 20 days. Woohooo!

Caitlin and Emma don't have school tomorrow, but Drake has work :( We had great plans of going swimming all day tomorrow (yes people, we can still swim in the middle of November, gotta love Southern California!) but then Drake found out that he still has to work :( Sucks.

My fat little fingers are still hard at work making hats, hats and more hats. I just designed a quick website to sell some of them on. My biggest problem is that all of my kids are obsessed with hats (not that we need them here) and everytime I make one, I hear, "Is that for me? I really love it! Can I please have it?" and who can resist my adorable kids? I know I sure can't. I'm a sucker for them being polite. Even Drake now has me working on a scarf for him from the yarn that was supposed to make a hat/scarf set to sell. Oh well, I love making them happy :)

I got a flu shot yesterday...the first I've ever had in my life. No problems there. I'll be pissed if I still get the flu this winter...that would be $15 down the drain. We'll see. I'm always sick with the flu on Christmas. I'd like to not be this year. Trying to be happy and excited for your kids as they open presents, all the while running to the bathroom to throw up just isn't fun.

Can you wear black to a wedding? I found a really cute dress I want to wear to a wedding next summer, but it's black. It does have a bit of a pink ruffle on it, does that make it any better? LOL Yeah, I know, black at a wedding is a no no. Sucks, it's a really cute dress.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, not wedding appropriate. It's not church appropriate either, so when am I supposed to wear it? Hmmmm, I'll have to think about that one because I really want it.

Anyways, off to pick the girls up from school!

Exercise

So, I have recently started working out. Goodness, is it ever WORK! LOL I spent an hour in the exercise room on Monday, an hour on Tuesday and will be doing another hour this evening. I get a couple of miles on the eliptical trainer and I'm beat. A few thousand meters on the ergometer and my arms are so sore. A couple of miles on the stationary bike and my legs feel like jello. Lift some weights to "cool down" and I'm done for the evening. The easy part is doing it. The hardest part is just getting my shoes on to go ;) I feel INCREDIBLE when I'm done though. I'm tired and sore, but I feel such a sense of accomplishment. Drake has been very supportive, watching the kids in his office or the breakroom while I exercise. I know it's driving him nuts though. His office now has a very prettily colored wall. Yikes. Yeah, Ethan got a hold of a pen.

Would you believe that I've actually been going to bed at a decent time lately? Between the exercise and giving up caffeine, my body actually gets tired...imagine that! LOL So, it's been beneficial in more ways than one. I'm down 14 pounds from two weeks ago. Go me!
